“Janet has been a godsend! The rescue that I volunteer for hired Janet to help with my foster dog who has had a lot of fear reactive behaviors. She would growl, snarl, bark and sometimes lunge at strangers. After only three sessions, we have seen a huge difference in our foster dog! She no longer growls, snarls or lunges. She glances at the stranger and keeps walking. Janet has taught myself and my family different strategies that are helpful for our foster dog as well as our resident dogs. We love her!”

Behavior Modification and Manners Training
All private training begins with a 90 minute consultation where I assess your dog and we work on foundation behaviors. We'll also address management and practical solutions for undesirable behaviors. You will see positive changes in your dog after the initial consultation.
This program works for a single behavior challenge (layered behavior with multiple components). Important skills for owner to learn are included. Examples: Practicing under threshold walks for dog reactive dogs, practicing and building mechanical skills to ensure adequate timing and delivery of reinforcer, etc,. This is a great primer set for puppies, including a rocket fast recall. The price does not include the initial consultation.
This would work for multiple behavior challenges and can include day training sessions. This is also the deluxe puppy program.
Modifying behaviors (ourselves included) is not a straight line endeavor and takes time, patience, willingness, honesty and some disappointments along the way. The price does not include the initial consultation.
Optional With Any Program Purchase
Day training is only possible with a program purchase. I come and train your dog and you don't have to be present. I check items off the training plan and I pass the information off to you once the behavior has been proofed.
Hourly lessons are only available after you've had the initial consultation. This is perfect if a follow-up session is needed, to learn how to modify/train other behaviors, make tweaks to the existing training plan, or to strengthen your own training skills.
Call me with new puppy questions, behavior questions, adoption questions, support for coping with impending pet loss, etc,. Phone consults are used to bridge the gap when in-person sessions are not doable.
All phone consults must be prepaid.
Reiki has many meanings. For the work I do with dogs it simply means true presence. I became a certified level 2 Reiki healer, many years ago, mainly to do self healing and as a benefit to my own dogs. Our animals are in tune with us at a deep level. The sessions are a sort of energetic mindfulness bridge to a more peaceful space for the dog. It is helpful for dogs that have experienced trauma, rescue dogs, dogs in transition, etc,.
Cost is $130.00
I do not initiate hands-on healing with animals because they are not able to give consent. Dogs usually seek me out and lay beside me or near me. Holding a quite space for you and your pet begins a session. We do a guided meditation which will help facilitate relaxation and set the intention for healing.
Reiki is not meant to diagnose or replace a visit to your Veterinarian.
Unfortunately, I cannot work with cats as I am allergic.
"Janet became part of the family when Oscar was about 6 months old, she trained him on the basics and now 4 years later he still knows all the cues and looks forward to her visits! Even though Janet taught Oscar to ride a skateboard!!, her work with him while I was expecting and now with a newborn, has been invaluable. I would recommend Janet for all families bringing in a new puppy or baby. She is a miracle worker who truly loves her clients." -

"Janet was clearly born to do this - ML's "Mary Poppins for doggies" analogy is spot on.
She is everything you would want - highly professional, positive, reliable, trustworthy, kind, thoughtful and responsive. She provided us with a detailed training plan based on our goals and initial session, and then provided frequent progress updates (I also love seeing our puppy Sidney on her Instagram feed which has a well-deserved celebrity level following).
Sidney clearly loves working with Janet. In just a few training sessions, Janet was able to get our extremely high energy and distractible puppy to walk calmly on a leash and even maintain the discipline to leave a treat on her paw until she was told to "take it." (We were unable to achieve this after months of trying without Janet).
We could not recommend her more highly."

Dogs don't speak with words. They speak with their bodies. They are talking all the time!
